I did these cupcakes for a friend’s art gala debut (http://cinderswork.blogspot.com/). She wanted them bright and vibrant for her theme. Generally I am very much against using food coloring to this degree but it was her birthday and she asked nicely; and they turned out pretty (but I wouldn’t do it again, hehe)

This is the other dessert I served to my colleague tonight. Lemon semi-freddo sitting on top of a coconut and pink peppercorn meringue, and mascarpone mousse, with a macerated blood orange slice. Orange marmalade paste and coconut sorbet.
